When You See Cleaning Holistically
Cleaning, like all the self-maintanence work, is mundane. I would argue it is the most mundane of them all — sleeping, eating, showering and growing food. To clean, means to return elements back home, and what’s left is void. If I describe cleaning as a season, it is the deep Autumn. When all the once vibrant flowers and leaves become the substances we can no longer recognize.
Cleaning is not something you do, it is part of the life cycle. You must go with the cycle, otherwise your body would go back to the the Earth sooner than your liking. It is an activity that is required by life itself.
The untamed power of life along with mundane nature are the true colours of cleaning. When you can walk straight into this vortex, you will touch the very raw sensation of being alive. Sarcastically, it is nothing like these powerful words, but rather, it is something small happening everyday.
The undeniable change of life always happens subtly. The sun rise, the growth of children, the seasons. When you perform cleaning with this kind of awareness, you transform your unwillingness to willingness. When there is willingness in the most mundane situation, there is nothing that can stop you. And it happens little by little.
